Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026

1. About this policy

Gradiora is a language-learning app operated by Vaylent Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains what information we collect through our app and website, why we use it, who receives it, and how you can ask us to delete it.

2. Your account and support requests

We use your account identifier, email address, and profile information to provide your account and save your learning progress. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive information from that service to sign you in.

When you contact support, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide so we can respond.

3. Voice practice and learning history

When you use voice practice, your microphone audio leaves your device and is sent to OpenAI to understand your speech and generate spoken replies. OpenAI also processes conversation text and relevant learning information to provide feedback and plan future practice.

We store transcripts, feedback, practice history, saved notes and phrases, and tutor observations linked to your account in our hosted database. Tutor observations can include your goals, preferences, and examples of what you practiced. We use relevant saved information to personalize later sessions.

We also use customer transcripts to evaluate improvements to Gradiora’s backend. Copies used for evaluation are not retained afterward. Your saved learning history is handled separately, as described in section 9.

The current voice feature does not save a playable recording of your microphone audio in your Gradiora account. OpenAI processes the audio to provide voice practice. Its retention of information is separate from Gradiora’s saved learning history.

Please avoid including sensitive personal information, such as health information or government ID numbers, in conversations or support messages.

4. Subscriptions

Apple handles subscription payments through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to check purchases and manage subscription access. RevenueCat receives your Gradiora account identifier and purchase information. We store subscription identifiers, subscription status, and billing-period dates.

Gradiora does not receive your payment-card details from Apple. We retain payment records for accounting purposes, including records of earlier purchases.

5. Website visits and app usage

Our marketing website does not set cookies, use browser storage, or include analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. Hosting services may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and request times, to serve the website and protect it from abuse.

The app uses local storage and hosted services to keep you signed in, save your learning history, provide voice practice, and manage subscription access. Your conversations and account data do not stay only on your device.

We record practice usage and technical information to manage practice allowances, understand service performance, improve Gradiora, and investigate problems. This can include account and device identifiers, device and operating-system information, IP addresses, request times, performance data, and errors.

We also use information to prevent fraud and abuse, meet legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect rights and safety.

6. Services we use

We share information with services that help us operate Gradiora, including:

We also use hosting and communication services to run Gradiora and respond to support requests. Links to the App Store and other external websites open services with their own privacy policies.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

7. International transfers

If you are located in the EU/EEA/UK, your personal data may be transferred to the United States and other countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your jurisdiction. We use Standard Contractual Clauses and other safeguards approved by the European Commission/UK ICO to protect such transfers.

8. Data security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access. However, no method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Keeping and deleting information

We keep transcripts, feedback, practice history, saved notes and phrases, and tutor observations to provide your learning history and personalized practice. We retain other information as needed to operate Gradiora, resolve support requests, prevent abuse, and meet legal or accounting obligations.

Forgetting tutor observations removes those observations and resets related practice plans; it does not delete the original conversation transcript. Deleting a practice-history item does not restore used practice time.

Use Delete Account in the app’s account settings to delete your Gradiora account and linked learning records. Removing the app from your device does not delete your hosted account.

Payment records are retained for accounting purposes. Logs and backups are cleared periodically, so account deletion does not necessarily remove backup copies immediately. Providers may retain separate records. Contact [email protected] with questions about stored information or a deletion request.

Deleting your Gradiora account does not cancel your App Store subscription. Cancel it separately in your Apple Account settings.

10. Your choices and privacy requests

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information, and to object to or restrict certain uses. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.

11. Children’s privacy

Gradiora is intended for users 18 years of age or older (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page and change the date at the top.
